The transcript is the timeline. Put the caret in a word, delete it, and the video loses exactly that — no handles, no keyframes, nothing to drag.

Cuts marks the dead air between words and shows it inline. Keep it, shorten it, or drop it — three levels, from a light trim to none at all.
